Overview

Waxing and tweezing are tried and true methods of hair removal that are quick, effective, albeit somewhat uncomfortable. By removing the hair at the root, waxing can prevent further hair growth for up to eight weeks. Make sure to jump to the list of tips below to get the most out of your waxing. Tinting is available for lashes and brows. We find the perfect shade or tint for you and carefully apply it to your brow and both your upper and lower lashes. Clients often report that tinted eyebrows allow them to completely skip their eyebrows in the morning makeup routine!

We offer Eyelash Perms that can eliminate curling your eyelashes from your morning makeup routine for up to three weeks. The gentle, pain-free process uses chemicals that break down the disulfide bonds in the lashes, then similar to how hair is “permed”, the lash is dried in a permanently curled position. Pre-Waxing Tips

Give the hair time to grow. Do not shave or wax for a minimum of 3-4 weeks before your treatment.
Length matters. Brazilian and Bikini waxes are less uncomfortable and most effective when the hair is between ¼” and ½” in length. No shorter, no longer. So be sure to trim before coming in for your appointment.
Mind your body clock. Female clients should try to avoid setting an appointment on the week prior to menstruation, as heightened sensitivity will increase discomfort.
Skip your morning coffee! Caffeine stimulates the nervous system, increasing sensitivity.

Pre and Post Waxing Guidelines

Do not use Retin-A/Renova for at least 30 days prior.
If you have taken Accutane, you cannot get waxed for at least one year.
Avoid peels (glycolic, AHA, etc.) or dermabrasion on the waxed area for 24 hours.
Avoid excessive amounts of alcohol and sunbathing for at least 48 hours before and after.
Avoid self-tanners, exfoliants, and moisturizers the day of treatment, as these cause irritation to the sensitive hair follicles post-waxing.
Avoid shaving between waxing treatments.

FAQs

Does waxing hurt?

Depending on your pain tolerance you will feel mild-medium discomfort lasting a few minutes at most. Our friendly professionals are trained to make the process as easy and pain-free as possible.

What should I do after I get waxed?

Apply aloe vera or hydrocortisone cream. Wash the area, but avoid harsh or intensive cleansers or creams for up to 48 hours. Showers and baths should be lukewarm, avoid overly hot water, especially hot tubs for a few days. Sunbathing and tanning should be avoided for at least 24-48 hours.

What about those pesky ingrown hairs?

You can help prevent them entirely by exfoliating the area 2-3 days following your treatment and then maintaining a regular exfoliation routine moving forward. If you do get an ingrown hair ask your aestheticians about our products to resolve them.

Should I get tweezing or waxing?

Tweezing is a great technique for shaping and maintenance. If you desire a different shape, the tweezing can be an effective tool. Waxing is excellent for removing a large number of hairs in one fell swoop.
